Shaan Shahid’s ‘Psycho’ teaser and trailer launched

Published on: May 22, 2026 7:29 AM

The teaser and trailer of the highly anticipated film ‘Psycho’ were officially launched in Karachi.

The event was held at a local hotel in the city and attended by the film’s key cast and crew. Psycho is directed by acclaimed actor and filmmaker Shaan Shahid and is set to release on Eidul Azha.

The launch event brought together actress Meera, Sonya Hussyn and veteran television and film actor Shabbir Jan.

Producer Salman Butt was also among those who gathered to mark the occasion and celebrate the film’s upcoming arrival.

Shaan Shahid addressed the gathering warmly and spoke at length about Karachi’s enduring importance to Pakistan’s creative landscape.

Shaan noted that films, dramas and literature often receive their earliest appreciation in Karachi before gaining wider national recognition.

Speaking specifically about Psycho, he described the film as a reflection of his personal desire to experiment and push creative boundaries.

He said that artists grow by stepping outside their comfort zones rather than repeating what has already been done before.

Shaan also stressed that cinema offers vast creative possibilities and that these opportunities must be explored as fully as possible. Meera spoke emotionally about her experience working on Psycho, saying the film fulfilled a long-held personal creative vision for her.

Veteran actor Shabbir Jan revealed an interesting detail about how his role in Psycho came to be expanded during the course of filming. His character was originally planned as a brief and relatively small appearance within the larger story of the film. But after the director responded positively to his performance on set, the role was extended significantly beyond its original scope.

Sonya Hussyn also spoke at the launch, calling Psycho a strong and genuinely commendable creative effort by all involved. The trailer itself has already sparked considerable conversation online, with viewers responding to its unconventional tone and bold storytelling approach.
