ATC extends Bushra Bibi’s pre-arrest bail until July 23 in 12 cases

Published on: May 22, 2026 6:36 AM

The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) of Islamabad on Thursday extended the pre-arrest bail of Bushra Bibi till July 23 in 12 cases linked to the November 26 protest demonstrations. The cases include allegations of inciting party workers and other charges registered under anti-terrorism laws in different police stations of the federal capital. The hearing was conducted by Abual Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain at the Anti-Terrorism Court Islamabad. Lawyer Ansar Kyani appeared before the court on behalf of Bushra Bibi. According to court proceedings, multiple cases were registered against Bushra Bibi at Ramna, Tarnol and Secretariat police stations, along with other areas of Islamabad. The cases were filed under terrorism-related sections following the November 26 protest. The prosecution alleged that Bushra Bibi encouraged and provoked workers during the protest activities. Her legal team sought an extension in protective bail, arguing that she should be allowed legal relief until the next hearing. After hearing arguments from both sides, the court approved the extension of her pre-arrest bail and adjourned further proceedings until July 23.
