National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Punjab on Sunday arrested two suspects in separate operations in Lahore and Faisalabad for allegedly harassing, blackmailing and exploiting women through social media platforms and digital content.
According to an NCCIA spokesperson, the operations were conducted on the direction of Director NCCIA Punjab Muhammad Ali Waseem against individuals involved in online sexual harassment, financial extortion and circulation of objectionable material.
In Lahore, the NCCIA arrested suspect Haziq Mahmood from Sabzazar Scheme following a complaint lodged by a woman resident of Gulshan-e-Ravi. The operation was conducted by SHO Najam Bajwa.
The spokesperson said a case had been registered against the suspect under Sections 20 and 24 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016.
During the raid, officials recovered two mobile phones, screen shots of alleged Instagram and WhatsApp conversations, and photographs of the complainant from the suspect’s possession.
In another operation, the NCCIA Faisalabad arrested suspect Zeeshan Nawaz near Narwala Chowk.
