The central moon-sighting meeting was held in Karachi under the leadership of the committee chairman. Members of the Central and Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committees attended the session along with experts from the Meteorological Department and SUPARCO.
Zonal committee meetings were also conducted in Islamabad and provincial capitals across the country. Officials reviewed moon-sighting testimonies received from different regions before making the final announcement regarding the beginning of Zil Hajj.
During the press conference, Abdul Khabir Azad confirmed that the moon had been sighted and declared Monday as the first day of Zil Hajj in Pakistan. Reports indicated that two committee members testified to seeing the moon during the central meeting process.
Additional moon-sighting testimonies were also received from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Committee sources said witnesses from Mardan and Peshawar confirmed the sighting. Officials stated that multiple verified reports supported the final decision.
