Uzbek FM lauds Pakistan diplomatic efforts

Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov on Saturday praised Pakistan’s constructive role in mediation efforts for regional peace and stability. He made the remarks during a phone call with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. The discussion also covered bilateral relations and wider regional developments.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both sides exchanged views on issues of mutual interest at bilateral and multilateral levels. Saidov appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement in supporting peace initiatives across the Middle East. Moreover, he acknowledged Islamabad’s efforts to promote regional security and dialogue.

Dar and Saidov agreed to remain in close contact and continue coordination on key diplomatic matters. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening Pak-Uzbek relations. Furthermore, they expressed satisfaction over growing cooperation between the two countries in multiple sectors.

Pakistan and Uzbekistan have recently expanded economic and strategic cooperation through multiple agreements. These include memoranda of understanding worth billions of dollars aimed at boosting trade, investment, and industrial collaboration. Consequently, both sides are working toward higher bilateral trade targets in the coming years.

Earlier engagements between the two countries have also focused on defence, pharmaceuticals, and regional connectivity. Observers say Uzbekistan’s endorsement of Pakistan’s mediation role reflects Islamabad’s growing diplomatic visibility. The latest interaction reinforces continued momentum in bilateral and regional cooperation efforts.
