Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched a revenue-based district development model across the province. She announced multi-billion-rupee projects aimed at strengthening local financial autonomy and improving infrastructure delivery. The initiative is intended to ensure faster development and greater accountability at the district level.

Chairing a high-level meeting in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz reviewed development plans presented by commissioners from multiple divisions. She stressed that development must deliver real on-ground results rather than cosmetic improvements. She directed officials to remain active in the field and ensure public relief through visible progress.

Meanwhile, the chief minister expressed strong anger over a recent child death caused by an open pit in Faisalabad. She ordered strict action against housing societies responsible for safety violations. She also directed monthly compliance affidavits and province-wide inspections of construction sites and manholes.

Furthermore, she approved major infrastructure projects across Sahiwal, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Multan and other divisions. These include road upgrades, beautification schemes, street lighting, sports facilities and public infrastructure improvements. Authorities were instructed to complete several projects under strict deadlines with improved monitoring mechanisms.

Overall, the chief minister emphasized merit-based execution and uniform development standards across Punjab. She said commissioners would be held responsible for monitoring progress and ensuring quality delivery.
