
Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir will lead a ceremony at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi on Sunday to mark the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq. The event commemorates the 2025 conflict with India and the ceasefire that followed Operation Bunyanum Marsoos.
According to official media reports, the ceremony will be attended by senior military leadership, including the Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf. A wreath will be laid at the martyrs’ monument, followed by a salute from the tri-services contingents.

Field Marshal Munir is also expected to address the gathering and highlight the events of the past year. The ceremony will reflect on military operations, national defence preparedness, and what officials describe as Pakistan’s strategic response during the conflict.

Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari paid tribute to the armed forces and the nation on the anniversary of Marka-e-Haq. He praised Field Marshal Munir’s leadership, along with the Air Force and Navy, for their operational performance and coordination during the conflict period.

The president said Pakistan demonstrated restraint while maintaining strong defence capabilities in response to aggression. He also reiterated support for the Kashmiri people and described water security and regional stability as key national concerns. He added that Pakistan remains committed to peace while staying fully prepared for any threats.
