Former Indian U-19 cricketer Amanpreet Singh dies at 36

Former Indian U-19 cricketer Amanpreet Singh has passed away at the age of 36, according to Indian media reports. The cause of his death has not yet been confirmed.

Amanpreet Singh was a former India Under-19 player and a medium-fast bowler who played domestic cricket for Punjab. He was also a former teammate of Indian batting star Virat Kohli at the Under-19 level.

He represented Punjab in six first-class matches, taking 11 wickets during his domestic career. In addition to his red-ball appearances, he also featured in youth international cricket, playing five Youth One-Day Internationals and one Youth Test for India in 2007.

Amanpreet was part of the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League, where he played for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings). After his playing career, he remained associated with cricket and later served on the Punjab senior selection committee.

His sudden death has shocked the cricketing community, with former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh expressing grief and sharing a condolence message on social media.

The Punjab Cricket Association also issued a statement expressing deep sorrow over his passing and extended condolences to his family.

Tributes have continued to pour in from former teammates and cricket officials, remembering him as a dedicated cricketer who contributed to Punjab cricket both on and off the field.
