Chief Minister of Balochistan Sarfaraz Bugti Tuesday met with Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and discussed matters pertaining to the development, progress, and welfare of the province of Balochistan.
During the meeting, both leaders held a comprehensive exchange of views on key issues including socio-economic uplift, infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and the effective utilization of natural resources in Balochistan. The Chairman Senate underscored the Federation’s commitment to ensuring equitable development across all provinces, with particular emphasis on addressing the unique challenges faced by Balochistan. Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani reaffirmed the Upper House’s role as a strong voice of the federating units and reiterated his support for initiatives aimed at strengthening provincial autonomy, enhancing governance, and promoting inclusive growth in Balochistan. He emphasized that sustainable development in Balochistan is vital for national cohesion and long-term stability.
The Chief Minister appreciated the Chairman Senate’s continued support and advocacy for Balochistan at the federal level. He highlighted ongoing development projects and expressed the provincial government’s resolve to accelerate progress through improved coordination with federal institutions. Senator Shahzaib Durrani was also present during the meeting and contributed to the discussion, particularly on legislative and policy measures aimed at addressing the needs of the people of Balochistan.
