The Pakistan Meteorological Department has warned of severe heat conditions across Sindh, with a heatwave expected in several districts. The advisory is important as rising temperatures may pose health risks, especially for vulnerable groups such as children, women, and the elderly. Authorities have urged precautionary measures to reduce heat-related illnesses.
According to the Met Office, most areas of Sindh will experience hot and dry weather conditions. A heatwave is expected from today until May 3 in central and upper districts. Temperatures in Jamshoro, Dadu, and Shaheed Benazirabad may remain 4 to 6 degrees above normal. Similar increases are expected in Ghotki and Sanghar.

Moreover, other districts including Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze, Jacobabad, Larkana, and Sukkur are also likely to be affected. The prolonged heat may intensify discomfort and increase health risks in urban and rural areas. Officials said weather conditions will remain unusually harsh during the forecast period.
Additionally, the Met Office advised citizens to avoid direct sunlight during peak hours. It recommended increased water intake and precautionary steps to prevent heatstroke. Farmers were also advised to adjust crop management according to weather conditions. Livestock protection measures were highlighted as essential.

Finally, Karachi is expected to experience hot weather over the next three days. Temperatures in the city may reach 34 to 37 degrees Celsius. However, no severe heatwave conditions are currently expected in the coastal city. Authorities continue to monitor the situation as temperatures rise across the province.
