Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that the removal of wheat sale limits and the abolition of the five-bag per acre condition is a major decision that will directly benefit small farmers.
In his statement, Sharjeel Inam Memon said that farmers will now be able to sell their produce at government centers without any restrictions.
He added that fixing the wheat support price at Rs 3,500 and setting a procurement target of 1 million metric tons reflects the government’s farmer-friendly policies.
He said that instructions to speed up the wheat procurement campaign and take steps in districts with lower procurement will help ensure the achievement of targets. He further stated that the provision of fuel subsidy to farmers within one day through Sindh Bank is an example of transparency and efficiency, while timely payments of billions of rupees have strengthened farmers’ confidence.
The provincial minister said that district administration, assistant commissioners, and other relevant officials have been mobilized in the field to ensure farmers do not face any difficulties.
He urged growers to sell their wheat at government procurement centers so they can receive prompt payments and government facilities. Sharjeel Memon added that the Sindh government will continue taking all possible steps to protect the interests of farmers and ensure food security in the province.
