ISLAMABAD: A man was shot dead on Thursday by unidentified gunmen. Police said that 58-year-old Shabbir Haider was sitting in his shop in Model Town Wah when two unidentified gunmen barged in. “They held up Haider and asked him for his money. When he tried to resist, they shot him and then fled. Haider died on the spot,” police said. Police took the body to a hospital for post-mortem examination. 8-year-old abducted: A boy was abducted from Golra Sharif Police precincts on Thursday. Abdul Hameed, a resident of Golra Sharif, lodged a complaint with police, stating that unidentified kidnappers had abducted his eight-year-old son Muhammad Yunus from the local market. Police are investigating. Labourer dies from electric shock: A labourer died on Thursday after receiving electric shock in New Town Police precincts. Zulfiqar was working in a house in New Town, when he accidently touched an electric wire. He was severely injured and taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Two killed in road accident: At least two people were killed in separate road accidents on Thursday in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Gulam Murtaza was returning home on his motorcycle when a speeding vehicle hit him in Naseerabad Police precincts. He fell down from the motorcycle and received serious injuries. He later died at a hospital. In the second incident, Rafaqat, who was riding a motorcycle, collided with another vehicle near Dhok Kala Khan. He died on the spot from his injuries.
