Kuwait pledges full support for Pakistan’s fuel supply

Published on: March 30, 2026 10:17 PM

Islamabad, March 30, 2026: Kuwait has assured Pakistan full facilitation for diesel and jet fuel supplies, amid disruptions caused by the Strait of Hormuz closure.

The pledge follows Tehran’s recent approval of 20 Pakistani-flagged oil cargoes through the Strait, securing vital energy imports for Pakistan. This commitment affects millions of Pakistani consumers and the nation’s energy security during ongoing regional tensions.

Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik met Kuwait’s Ambassador Nassar Abdulrahman Jasser Almutairi to discuss energy cooperation, bilateral relations, and regional developments.

Malik highlighted the long-standing partnership between the two countries, noting that Pakistan has imported petroleum products, particularly diesel, from Kuwait for over five decades. He emphasized the historic and brotherly ties, calling the relationship “enduring and built on trust.” The minister also conveyed Pakistan’s hope that all Gulf countries remain peaceful and secure.

The Kuwaiti envoy praised Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability. He lauded Pakistan’s government, armed forces, and people for rejecting force and supporting diplomatic solutions during crises. Ambassador Jasser reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to assisting Pakistan and expressed pride in the bilateral partnership.

Both sides agreed to strengthen ties further, particularly in the energy sector, and to continue close engagement to expand cooperation in areas of mutual benefit. They underscored the importance of collaboration to ensure uninterrupted fuel supplies and regional stability.
