
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has written a letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif urging that former PTI chairman Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi be allowed to meet their family during Eid. The appeal emphasizes legal and humanitarian rights for prisoners.
In the letter, Afridi noted that requests for such meetings have been made previously and stressed that prisoners are entitled to meet their families under both legal and human rights frameworks. He called for the facilitation of family visits as a matter of compassion and law.

Afridi also highlighted that despite jail manuals and court orders, obstacles remain in providing basic rights to prisoners. He underscored that allowing family visits and medical facilities is the state’s legal responsibility.
The Chief Minister requested that Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi be granted their rights in accordance with the law. He urged immediate instructions to ensure their access to legal entitlements.

Afridi’s letter reiterates the need for adherence to legal norms and humane treatment, stressing that family visits and medical access are fundamental rights that should not be denied to any detainee.
