
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain and thunderstorms in Karachi and other parts of Sindh from March 18 to 19. The advisory warns that heavy rainfall, strong winds, and isolated hailstorms could affect multiple districts. The forecast is significant for residents, farmers, and local authorities preparing for potential disruptions.
PMD said a westerly wave is expected to enter western parts of the country from March 17, bringing partly cloudy weather to Karachi. Thunderstorms and rainfall are predicted on March 18 and 19, with lightning possible in isolated locations. Residents were advised to stay alert and follow safety precautions.

Rain and thunderstorms with strong winds and isolated hailstorms are likely in Jamshoro, Hyderabad, Thatta, Sujawal, Badin, Matiari, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allah Yar, Umerkot, Tharparker, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Nosheroferoz, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Dadu. Larkana, Qamber Shahdad Kot, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Ghotki, and Sukkur are expected to receive heavy rainfall with occasional gaps.
The Sindh Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) advised authorities to take all necessary mitigation measures. PMD also predicted rain and thunderstorms in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir from March 17 to March 20. Snowfall is expected in northern and hilly areas.

Farmers were specifically urged to manage crops according to the forecast. Authorities have been advised to monitor the situation closely and ensure public safety. The upcoming weather may affect transport, electricity, and daily activities across the affected regions.
