Pakistan observed the martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (RA) on Wednesday with deep religious devotion, as mourning processions and gatherings were held across major cities under strict security arrangements. Authorities deployed thousands of police personnel and implemented comprehensive security plans to ensure the safety of participants during the solemn religious commemorations.
In Karachi, the central procession began after a mourning gathering at Nishtar Park and later concluded at Hussainia Iranian Imambargah. As part of the security measures, authorities sealed several roads and streets in the Saddar area by placing containers to control movement. Police and law enforcement agencies remained on high alert throughout the day while monitoring procession routes and nearby locations to maintain order.

Authorities also remained cautious due to a recent security incident that occurred on February 28 outside the United States Consulate in Karachi, where a firing incident claimed the lives of eleven people. Across Punjab, officials also implemented strict security arrangements for Youm-e-Ali observances. More than 30,000 police personnel were deployed to protect religious gatherings and processions across the province. Authorities stated that the extensive security plan aims to ensure peaceful observance of the day while allowing citizens to participate in commemorations with respect and devotion.
