Two suspects, involved in the murder of a police head constable in Shahdara area, were killed by the firing of their own accomplices in an alleged encounter on Monday. According to CCD officials, the deceased suspects were identified as Imran Butt and Aamir Butt whose bodies have been shifted for post-mortem while further legal action is underway.
According to sources, the suspects had killed Head Constable Ashfaq in 2019 for informing authorities about drug trafficking. After the incident, the suspects allegedly evaded the law due to heavy influence. The officials further said that the accused were being taken for identification when their accomplices opened fire, resulting in the death of both the accused. Four suspects under investigation by Lahore CCD were allegedly killed by the firing of their own accomplices during two separate encounters, here on Monday.
According to CCD sources, in the Kahna area, the suspects’ accomplices allegedly attacked the police team while it was taking accused for identification process. As a result, suspects Irfan and Asif were shot dead. Similarly, Shahid and Bilal were targeted by the alleged accomplices in the Green Town area. According to police sources, the four accused were also involved in incidents of firing during robbery and resistance.
