RAWALPINDI: Punjab government has released special grant of Rs 600 million for construction of boundary walls of 430 schools and renovation of 178 schools of district Rawalpindi. According to media reports, Deputy Commissioner Talat Mehmood Gondal has directed concerned authorities to complete the construction work and renovation of dilapidated buildings of all 608 schools till May 30. DC during a meeting on the respective matter said any negligence will not be tolerated in this regard. Deputy Director Development Saima Ghafoor said that after survey, 178 school buildings of district Rawalpindi were declared as run down, and Punjab Government had approved budget of Rs 600 million for construction of more class rooms and boundary walls in 430 schools which has been transferred to building department. Contractors will be made payment after checking of the quality of their work.
