IHC Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar highlighted that M-Tags aim to facilitate motor vehicle registration and ensure accurate identification of all vehicles on the road. The system is designed to enhance transparency and track motorbikes effectively across the country.
During proceedings, the petitioner’s counsel argued that the administrative order should be supported by proper legal mechanisms and legislation. They stressed that implementing M-Tags without legal clarity may burden the public unnecessarily, raising concerns about practical difficulties in compliance.
