Imad Wasim sends legal notice to ex-wife over allegations

Published on: February 23, 2026 7:05 PM

Pakistani cricketer Imad Wasim has issued a legal notice to his ex-wife, Sannia Ashfaq, following her allegations of “forced abortion” and infidelity after he confirmed his second marriage. The accusations surfaced on social media shortly after Wasim publicly announced his remarriage, describing it as a decision made thoughtfully to build a life rooted in peace, stability, and mutual respect.

Sannia shared a social media story alongside an image from Wasim’s second wedding, writing, “Now everyone has seen the proof this home breaker never once thought about my kids.” The post quickly attracted public attention, intensifying scrutiny of the cricketer’s personal life. In response, Wasim’s lawyer, Advocate Aalia Zareen Abbasi, categorically denied the allegations as baseless and issued a formal legal notice to Sannia.

Abbasi clarified that medical records confirm the claim of a forced miscarriage is incorrect. She further stated that Wasim’s decision to travel to the United States in November 2023 for the World Cup was made with mutual consent and cannot be blamed for any personal outcomes. Complete documentation of his tours to the UAE, Australia, and England will be presented in court as part of ongoing proceedings.

Addressing the infidelity allegation, Abbasi explained that the couple separated in November 2024 due to differences while Sannia was pregnant, and they mutually agreed to wait until the child’s birth. She added that Imad continued to support all financial responsibilities during this period and remains committed to providing for all three of his children.

In July 2025, the couple’s son was born, with Wasim fulfilling all financial obligations. Abbasi emphasized that the clarification was issued because the matter is sub judice and pending before the court. She warned that any defamatory content could be legally actionable, urging anyone claiming evidence to present it through proper legal channels.

Earlier, in December 2025, Imad filed for divorce citing repeated conflicts that could not be resolved over the years. He requested privacy and asked the public to refrain from sharing old photographs of the couple, highlighting the sensitive nature of the ongoing legal matter.
