The HR Committee of the Board of Directors of Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) has agreed to a proposal for the regularization of more than one thousand workers and forwarded the matter to the Board for final approval.

The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by HR Committee Chairman Javed Anwar Mughal. The meeting was attended by former MNA Malik Shakeel Awan, RWMC Secretary Muhammad Farooq, Chief Financial Officer Bilal Khawar, Chairman Municipal Labour Union Changez Bhatti, and other officials. After detailed deliberations, the committee approved the proposals and sent them to the Board of Directors for final endorsement.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, HR Committee Chairman Javed Anwar Mughal said that the steps are being taken in line with the clear directives of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, prioritizing the welfare of workers. He added that formal approval has also been granted for the honorarium already paid. He further stated that the Board will continue to work alongside RWMC and the government to ensure the welfare and progress of workers, adding that no negligence will be tolerated in improving the sanitation system.

Malik Shakeel Awan said that practical measures are being taken for the betterment of workers under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s pro-labour policies.

Chairman Municipal Labour Union Changez Bhatti thanked Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, HR Committee Chairman Javed Anwar Mughal, Board members, and Sardar Muhammad Naseem Khan, stating that this step will not only bring happiness and encouragement to workers but also reflects the government’s strong commitment to labour-friendly policies.
