PAF successfully completes 'Golden Eagle' training exercise: ISPR - Pakistan - DAWN.COM

The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has successfully concluded its major military exercise, “Golden Eagle,” at the Southern Air Command, aimed at validating combat readiness and operational agility across the full spectrum of air warfare capabilities, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.

According to the military’s media wing, the exercise was conducted on a Two-Force construct and focused on modern, AI-enabled and net-centric operations. It incorporated indigenous, niche and smart technologies to reflect evolving regional and global security dynamics. The drills were designed to test the PAF’s ability to operate effectively in complex and contested environments.

The exercise was carried out under a robust Integrated Air Defence System, with friendly forces shaping the battlespace through the coordinated use of kinetic operations alongside cyber, space and electromagnetic spectrum capabilities. The kinetic phase featured swing-role combat aircraft equipped with beyond-visual-range (BVR) air-to-air missiles, extended-range stand-off weapons and precision strike munitions. These operations were supported by Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft and air-to-air refuelling platforms.

One of the key highlights of Exercise Golden Eagle was the employment of manned-unmanned teaming. Deep-reach armed drones and loitering munitions were deployed in a highly contested, congested and degraded operational environment, demonstrating the PAF’s ability to conduct high-tempo operations in modern warfare scenarios.

The entire exercise was executed under unified command and control through the Next-Generation All-Domain Command and Control Centre at Air Headquarters in Islamabad, ensuring real-time coordination and situational awareness.

ISPR said the successful completion of Exercise Golden Eagle reaffirmed the Pakistan Air Force’s commitment to maintaining a high level of operational preparedness, leveraging indigenous innovation, and effectively responding to emerging and future security challenges.
