Pakistan has unveiled its new SMASH hypersonic missile at the World Defense Show 2026 in Riyadh. The missile was presented by Global Industrial and Defence Solutions (GIDS). Officials said the weapon can strike both sea and land targets with high speed and precision.
According to GIDS, the SMASH missile is designed for extremely high speed and near-vertical attack angles. These features allow it to evade modern air and missile defense systems. The missile is equipped with advanced guidance systems to improve targeting accuracy in complex combat environments.

In its anti-ship role, the missile has a reported range of 290 kilometers. It carries a 384-kilogram warhead and uses HD-GNSS-assisted inertial navigation with an active radar seeker. GIDS said the missile’s accuracy is 10 meters or less, with terminal speed exceeding Mach 2.
For land-attack missions, the missile also has a 290-kilometer range. However, the warhead weight increases to 444 kilograms in this version. Navigation relies on HD-GNSS-assisted inertial guidance, while accuracy is reported at 15 meters or less with similar hypersonic speed.

GIDS said the missile’s dual-role design reduces logistical complexity and operational costs. Defense experts noted rising demand for long-range precision weapons in the Middle East and beyond. They said SMASH is being positioned as an effective system for high-risk and contested environments.
