India’s IndiGo will suspend long-haul flights to Copenhagen from February 17 due to airspace closures and congestion. The airline will also reduce services between Delhi and Britain. IndiGo cited operational challenges affecting its leased Boeing Dreamliner fleet.
The airline did not name the geopolitical issues, but recent Middle East airspace restrictions have delayed international flights. Airport congestion in India and overseas has further increased flight times. IndiGo said these factors made it difficult to maintain schedule reliability.

In addition to Copenhagen, Delhi–Manchester flights will drop to four weekly from February 7, and three from February 19. Delhi–London Heathrow services will also reduce to four flights weekly. IndiGo said it will monitor developments and adjust its network as needed.
IndiGo began Copenhagen flights only in October, making this suspension a setback. The airline uses Dreamliners leased from Norse Atlantic Airways for these routes. India’s largest carrier faced criticism last December for domestic cancellations caused by pilot scheduling issues.

Looking ahead, IndiGo expects its first Airbus A350 widebodies in early 2028, delayed from 2027. The airline plans to restore reliability in widebody operations quickly. It also continues to monitor geopolitical tensions and airport congestion to optimize its international network.
