Nawaz, Maryam meet Iranian ambassador to boost ties

Pakistan Muslim League-N President Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz met Iranian Ambassador Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam in Lahore on Wednesday. The leaders discussed bilateral relations, trade, energy, investment, and regional developments. Both sides pledged to strengthen Pakistan-Iran ties further.

Maryam Nawaz invited Iranian investors to Pakistan, especially in agriculture, information technology, and tourism sectors. She emphasized promoting economic and social cooperation between the two nations. The meeting highlighted Pakistan’s openness to foreign investment and regional collaboration.

The Iranian ambassador thanked Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar for their continued support. He praised Pakistan’s leadership and reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to closer cooperation on regional and international issues.

Nawaz Sharif said dialogue can resolve even the most difficult issues if discussions remain open. He expressed admiration for Iran’s resilience and conveyed his best wishes for the Iranian people. The ambassador called Nawaz an important leader in the Muslim world and said Pakistan and Iran share “one soul, two bodies.”

Dr. Amiri Moghadam also thanked Maryam Nawaz for addressing issues related to Persian language and Iranian students in Pakistan. He said the Iranian people consider Nawaz Sharif a pillar of Pakistan’s protection, emphasizing deep cultural and regional ties between the two countries.
