RAWALPINDI: A student was killed after she was run over by a metro bus on Friday at Rahmanabad Metro Station in Rawalpindi. Another passenger was also injured in the accident. According to eye-witnesses, the metro bus was travelling from Rawalpindi to Islamabad. “The bus driver pushed the brakes to slow down near Rahmanabad Metro Station where construction work was underway. The bus hit a pole. The automatic door opened and the girl fell down on the road. She was run over by the same bus. Another passenger was also injured,” the eye-witnesses said. The body and the injured were taken to Civil Hospital. The girl was later identified as Sameera, 19. The victim’s parents later said that we would lodge a complaint with police against the metro bus administration. Two women abducted: Two women were abducted on Friday. Gulzar Maseeh, a resident of Karachi Company, lodged a complaint with the local police, stating that kidnappers had abducted his daughter from the local market. Drug addict found dead: Body of a 45-year-old man was found from Holy Family Road near Raja Sultan locality on Friday. Police said that the deceased was later identified as Abdul Jabbar alias Bhutto. Police said the deceased was likely a drug addict who might have died from an overdose. A post-mortem examination has been ordered to determine the cause of death. 72-year-old dies in fire: A 72-year-old man died after a fire gutted his house near Chamman Plaza in Khayaban-e-Sir Syed Sector-3. According to Rescue 1122, the fire broke out in the house near due to short-circuiting. Salim, who was present in the house, sustained serious burns. He later died at a hospital. Valuables worth millions of rupees were also destroyed in the fire.
