LAHORE: Peshawar High Court (PHC) has ordered the government to provide security to a 16-years-old girl who was forced to parade naked in Dera Ismail Khan last month. A court’s bench, consisted of Chief Justice Yahya Afridi and Justice Afsar Shah, issued the orders after taking up the petition filed by the girl’s mother earlier today. The petition sought protection from the suspects who allegedly tore the cloths of the girl and forced her to walk on streets of her village naked. It also sought the name of the man who filmed the incident to be included in the First Information Report (FIR). The petition also accused the local police of twisting facts in FIR. It urged the court to order weekly submission of progress report regarding police investigation into the incident. The bench ordered the police officer, listed as a respondent in the petition, to be appeared before the court in next hearing. The bench also ordered the authorities to take measures to curtail the circulation of the victim’s video. The court was then adjourned till Wednesday.
