ATC issues non-bailable warrant for Aleema Khan

Published on: February 2, 2026 6:15 PM

Islamabad: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for Aleema Khan in the November 26 protest case. The court rejected her request to be exempted from appearing. She must be presented in court by tomorrow, officials said.

Until her court appearance, Aleema Khan’s bank accounts and identity card will remain blocked. The court emphasized that these measures ensure compliance with legal proceedings. Authorities said no exceptions will be made for high-profile cases.

Special Prosecutor Zaheer Shah stated that Aleema cannot dictate terms to the court. He added her behavior has been irresponsible since the beginning of the case. Court sources said her actions cannot be tolerated in protest-related legal matters.

The ATC also ordered strict monitoring to guarantee Aleema’s appearance. Legal experts said non-bailable warrants are standard in cases involving public unrest. Officials said this action reinforces the rule of law and accountability.

The court’s decision signals a firm approach toward protest-related cases. Observers noted that Aleema’s compliance is critical for further proceedings. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
