LAHORE: Around 450 photographs were displayed at the Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA)’s ‘Wekh Lahore Photo Contest and Exhibition’ at the Alhamra Arts Council on Friday. The five-day exhibition is aimed at providing a platform for young photographers to showcase their talent. Photographs were displayed in three categories, including architecture, street life and monuments. Speaking on the occasion, Walled City of Lahore Authority Director General Kamran Lashari said, “I am happy that youngsters are taking more and more interest in the walled city. Whenever I am there I always see groups photographing the heritage and cultural life. It means our photographers are the most important source of projecting the local heritage.” He went on to say that it was the fourth session of the ‘Wekh Lahore’ contest, while the authority was planning to make it a yearly feature.
