
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan is committed to using modern technology to ensure transparency. He highlighted the establishment of the Punjab Agriculture, Food and Drug Authority (PAFDA) as a key step. The authority aims to maintain food security, quality standards, and public health across the region.
Speaking at an event in Lahore, Shehbaz Sharif praised Punjab Chief Minister for their role in creating the country’s first PAFDA. He called the initiative a major service to the nation and a model for excellence in regulatory oversight. The authority will also monitor agricultural products, food, and medicines to ensure safety and prevent adulteration.

The Prime Minister emphasized the use of advanced technology in regulatory processes. He announced that the new institution would employ forensic labs to provide irrefutable evidence against violations. This system aims to strengthen public trust in food and drug safety while promoting accountability.
Shehbaz Sharif also lauded the efforts of scientists and experts contributing to the authority. He said PAFDA will serve not only Punjab but the entire country, ensuring food security, proper nutrition, and effective regulatory control nationwide.
