
Six terrorists were killed during a CTD intelligence based operation near Chapri Dam in Mianwali. Officials said the militants died due to firing by their own accomplices. The operation helped avert a major terror threat in the area.
According to a CTD spokesperson, the raid was launched on credible intelligence. When intercepted, the militants opened fire on the CTD team. Consequently, a heavy gun battle erupted at the site. During the exchange, six dangerous terrorists were killed.

Meanwhile, eight terrorists escaped under the cover of darkness. Security forces said search operations were immediately launched to trace them. The area was cordoned off to prevent further movement. Authorities said identification of the deceased militants is underway.
Moreover, CTD recovered a large cache of weapons and explosives. The seizure included a suicide jacket, grenades, ammunition, and an SMG. Officials said the group had finalized plans to attack police and law enforcement agencies. Timely action, therefore, foiled a major conspiracy.

Separately, reports show a sharp rise in terrorism during 2025. Pakistan recorded 699 terror attacks, causing over 1,000 deaths. However, officials noted a recent decline after the Afghan border closure. Security agencies remain on high alert nationwide.
