Jatli Police have arrested a woman accused of killing a 10-day-old newborn by throwing the infant into a household well over a personal grudge. According to police spokesperson, the suspect is the close relative and baby’s aunt. City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani has taken notice of the tragic incident and directed officials to ensure the immediate arrest of those involved. A case of the newborn’s abduction was registered at Jatli Police Station two days earlier on the complaint of the child’s father. During investigation, police took the woman into custody. While in interrogation, she confessed to killing the infant. SP Saddar Anum Sher said the accused would be presented to the court with solid evidence to ensure punishment under the law. The spokesperson confirmed that further legal proceedings are underway.
