Five people, including two children, were killed and one injured when a speeding car collided with a stationed tractor-trolley on Daska Road near Mohabbat Khan petrol pump on Sunday.
According to officials, a bricks-laden tractor-trolley was parked on the service road when a fast-moving Cultus car coming from the Daska side went out of control and rammed into it, resulting in multiple fatalities.
Rescue teams reached the spot immediately, recovered the bodies from the damaged vehicle and shifted them to THQ Hospital Daska. The injured person, identified as 33-year-old Sohail of Fateh Garh, was provided initial medical assistance and shifted to hospital. The deceased were identified as siblings Ezza (3) and Zaman (6), children of Sohail, along with Salman (36), Islam (58) and Imran (29).
District Emergency Officer Engineer Naveed Iqbal visited the accident site, reviewed the situation and supervised the clearance of the road to restore traffic flow.
Relatives said that the victims were traveling with family members and friends and were returning after attending a birthday celebration.
