KYIV – The Ukrainian capital came under a massive Russian drone attack early Saturday, officials said, with air defence systems deployed across the city. Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed strikes in multiple districts on both sides of the Dnipro River, warning residents to remain alert. Fires broke out in at least two locations following the strikes.
Tymur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv’s military administration, reported that drones targeted at least three districts and noted the potential threat of Russian missile deployment. The attacks caused panic and emergency responses throughout the city.

In Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, Mayor Ihor Terekhov said Russian drones struck several districts, injuring 11 people and damaging at least three residential buildings. Emergency services are responding to contain fires and aid the wounded.
The attacks come just after negotiators from Ukraine, Russia, and the United States completed the first day of talks in the United Arab Emirates. The discussions aim to find a resolution to the nearly four-year-old war, though fighting continues on the ground.
