Speaking at a press briefing, CM Bugti said that unlawful extraction of minerals was causing significant financial losses to both the national and provincial exchequers, while also undermining the rule of law. “Illegal mining not only deprives the province of its true revenue potential but also denies the people their rightful share of wealth,” he said.

The Chief Minister highlighted recent enforcement efforts, noting that 47 illegal chromite mines in Pishin district were sealed during a joint operation by district authorities and law enforcement agencies. He described this as a clear demonstration of the government’s commitment to safeguarding Balochistan’s mineral wealth and ensuring legal compliance in the sector.

CM Bugti also announced plans to implement a comprehensive policy aimed at reforming the province’s minerals sector and eradicating illegal mining entirely. The policy is expected to streamline oversight, improve regulatory mechanisms, and increase transparency, with the goal of maximizing revenue generation while protecting the rights of local communities.

“Balochistan’s mineral resources are a collective asset, and we will ensure that exploitation occurs in a lawful and equitable manner,” he emphasized.

The Chief Minister urged all stakeholders, including miners, investors, and local communities, to cooperate with government authorities to promote responsible mining practices. He warned that violations of mineral laws would not be tolerated and stressed that the province would continue to take decisive measures to prevent illegal extraction and protect public interests.
