Maryam Nawaz launches beautification plan

Punjab government has announced the launch of the “Apna Khet Apna Rozgar” program to provide agricultural land for farming. The decision was made during the 32nd cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. Immediate steps were ordered to allocate land to 50,000 individuals for cultivation across the province.

The cabinet also approved hundreds of new job positions for youth in departments including CCD, Excise, and the Home Department. These measures aim to boost employment opportunities and strengthen provincial workforce participation. Officials emphasized swift implementation to ensure rapid benefits for young professionals and farmers.

In a related initiative, the government plans a new public transport revolution with green electric buses operating even in tehsil areas. Maryam Nawaz directed the procurement of 1,000 green buses and announced a cashless payment system to start from March 25. Passengers paying cash will face higher fares, while cards will provide a seamless fare experience.

The cabinet also approved expansions under the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” program, facilitating loans for home extensions. Cultural and agricultural development will be promoted through horse and cattle shows in every district, encouraging local livestock growth and showcasing Punjab’s heritage. Officials said these shows would combine education, entertainment, and farming promotion.
