
A fresh winter system continues to affect Pakistan, bringing heavy snowfall, rain, thunderstorms, and extreme cold. Northern areas like Murree and Galiyat face heavy snow, while Balochistan and Sindh experience freezing temperatures. Authorities have warned that worsening conditions may increase travel and safety risks.
Murree has recorded up to four feet of snow, prompting the district administration to close tourist entry. Power outages have plunged many areas into darkness. Road-clearing operations are ongoing, with officers remaining present in the field. The Meteorological Department predicts snowfall will continue overnight and into tomorrow.

In Punjab, heavy rain and hail are expected in northeastern districts. Intermittent rain is forecast in Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Talagang, and Sargodha. Other districts, including Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, and Kasur, will also see scattered rain, while twin cities recorded up to 32mm rainfall, intensifying cold conditions.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will experience moderate to heavy snowfall in upper districts. Rain with thunder is likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, and Kohistan. Thunderstorms are forecast in Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Peshawar, and Charsadda. Cold and dry weather prevails in most districts of Sindh and Balochistan.

Kalat and surrounding areas face extreme cold, with temperatures dropping to minus 12 degrees Celsius. Snowfall of up to one foot has frozen water on rooftops and deserted roads. Daily life has been severely affected, leaving many residents confined to their homes.
