RAWALPINDI: Due to defective CT SCAN machine in district headquarters hospital for the past several weeks the lives of patients have been put at stake. According to media reports, due to dysfunctional CT SCAN machine patients have no option other than to undergo CT SCAN tests with paying thousands of rupees fee in Private Laboratories. Dozens of patients come for treatment in hospital on daily basis among them some need CT scan test but due to defective machine, they suffer a lot. Earlier 40 to 45 patients were provided the facility of CT SCAN daily but now administration is keeping mum over the matter of repair of CT Scan machine and patients are referred to other private allied hospitals for medical tests and CT SCAN tests and family members of patients are forced to bear expenditures of 4 to 8 thousands rupees. Hospital administration in this regard said that after warrantee, 3 year contract period in connection with repair of machine has also expired. A new tender was floated on April 22 and now a new company will be able to repair the machine after tender is received.
