The tech world is buzzing with rumours about Apple’s next flagship, the iPhone 18 Pro, as speculation over its display design emerges. Recent reports suggest that Apple may adopt a central pill-shaped cutout for Face ID and front camera components, replacing earlier claims of a punch-hole design on the top left of the screen.

The rumours were fueled by a YouTube video from Front Page Tech, which claimed a left-aligned punch-hole camera. However, Chinese tipster Instant Digital, citing industry sources, called these claims “complete misinformation,” clarifying that a mistranslation led to the misunderstanding.

According to the latest leaks, the iPhone 18 Pro may feature an under-display infrared flood illuminator in the top-left area of the screen, while the IR sensor, dot projector, and front-facing camera remain centralized. This design would correct previous reports suggesting a top-left punch-hole layout. Industry analyst Ross Young, former VP at Counterpoint Research, reportedly supports this central pill-shaped cutout claim, adding credibility to the reports.
Instead of a punch-hole display, the iPhone 18 Pro is expected to retain a smaller version of the Dynamic Island introduced in recent models. The device may also come equipped with advanced features such as 5G via satellite connectivity and a variable aperture for the rear camera system.
