PSCA sets up virtual centre for educational security across Punjab

Published on: January 21, 2026 4:02 AM

The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has established a Virtual Center for Educational Security to further strengthen and ensure foolproof security of educational institutions across the province.

According to a PSCA spokesperson on Tuesday, under this modern initiative, all public and private schools and colleges across Punjab, including Lahore, are being connected to a centralised digital security platform. The registration of teachers and security staff of educational institutions into the Safe Cities integrated system is being carried out in a phased manner.

The spokesperson said that under the system, teachers will update the security status of their institutions three times a day through the Public Safety App. In case anyf institution is marked unsafe, the PSCA system will immediately generate alerts for the concerned police and administrative authorities to ensure prompt response.

The spokesperson added that teachers can also directly connect with Safe Cities through the “Connect to Camera” feature, under which a mobile phone camera can temporarily function as a Safe Cities camera, enabling live video sharing during emergencies. This facility will help provide immediate visual access and timely assistance to protect students and staff.

He further said that so far more than 30,000 educational institutions have been registered under the Virtual Center for Educational Security System, while the registration of over 130,000 teachers has already been completed. Security cameras installed in educational institutions will also be integrated with PSCA’s live monitoring system to ensure swift action in case of any emergency.
