Chris Taylor debuts in Pakistan’s President’s Trophy

Published on: January 20, 2026 9:53 PM

West Indies umpire Christopher Mark Taylor will officiate three matches of the President’s Trophy Grade-I 2025-26. His participation comes through the ICC’s Umpire Exchange Programme, announced the Pakistan Cricket Board on Tuesday. Taylor will make his tournament debut in the Ghani Glass versus Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited match on January 21 at the National Bank Stadium.

Taylor, 45, will also umpire the Khan Research Laboratories versus SNGPL match on January 27 at KCCA Stadium. His third assignment will be the Sahir Associates versus Pakistan Television match on February 2 at the National Bank Stadium. The exchange allows him to gain international exposure while supporting local umpiring standards.

The Jamaican umpire has previously officiated five women’s One-Day Internationals and three women’s T20 Internationals. He has also stood in 41 first-class, 56 List-A, and 53 T20 matches across domestic tournaments. His most recent assignment was the West Indies domestic 50-over competition in November 2025.

The PCB said Taylor’s presence will enhance his professional growth and offer Pakistani umpires a chance to learn from his international experience. This initiative strengthens ties between the West Indies and Pakistan cricket boards.
