Authorities said the accident occurred when the bus driver lost control while attempting to avoid an oncoming motorcycle. This led to a violent head-on collision with the Fielder coming from the opposite direction. The impact completely wrecked the Fielder, and the motorcycle rider also sustained injuries.
Two of the deceased have been identified as Aziz Ahmed, son of Muhammad Khan, and Abdul Karim, son of Khan Muhammad, both residents of Mari Abad, Quetta. The identity of the third and fourth victims is yet to be confirmed.
Several passengers on the bus suffered injuries of varying severity and were taken to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. Police and rescue teams reached the scene promptly to manage the situation and provide emergency assistance.
The incident highlights continuing safety concerns on the N85 highway, which has seen multiple accidents in the past due to high-speed driving and challenging road conditions. Authorities urged drivers to exercise caution, maintain safe speeds, and adhere to traffic rules to prevent further tragedies.
