Predictions about key Islamic dates in Pakistan have surfaced, as astronomers shared tentative timelines for the Ramazan moon sighting and both Eids, based on lunar movement and visibility conditions.
Secretary General of the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council, Khalid Ijaz Mufti, said astronomical data suggests the Ramazan crescent may be visible on February 18, placing the first fast on February 19.

He explained these projections consider the moon’s birth time, angle, and visibility window, while also stressing that weather clarity can significantly influence whether the crescent is actually sighted.
Moving ahead, the Shawwal moon is expected to be visible on March 20, which could lead to Eid ul Fitr being celebrated on March 21, if atmospheric conditions remain favourable nationwide.

Regarding Eid ul Adha, calculations indicate the first of Dhul-Hijjah may fall on May 17, which would place Eid ul Adha on May 27, aligning with lunar cycle estimates.
However, Mufti reiterated that all dates remain provisional, as the final and official announcement rests solely with the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee after verified moon sightings.
