Digital vision, student inclusion set stage for UoG’s quality leap

Published on: January 3, 2026 3:44 PM

GUJRAT — Embarking on a new chapter of institutional excellence, the University of Gujrat (UoG) has launched its Institutional Quality Circle (IQC) for the 2025–26 academic year with a dual focus on digital transformation and inclusive participation. The inaugural meeting was held at Hafiz Hayat Campus on Friday under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Zahoor ul Haq, recipient of the prestigious Tamgha‑e‑Imtiaz. He was joined by QEC Director Farhat Kausar and Deputy Director Muhammad Qasim Gujjar for support.

The session centred on evaluating institutional and academic performance. Deputy Director Qasim Gujjar delivered a detailed briefing on reforms already underway and outlined strategies for future improvement. Participants reviewed national evaluation protocols set by the Performance Standards Group (PSG) and proposed measures to further strengthen UoG’s academic standards.

Prof. Dr Zahoor highlighted the university’s rapid shift toward digitalization, announcing that e‑office management will soon be implemented across all academic and administrative units to support IQC objectives. He urged departments to prepare actionable plans based on IQC recommendations and emphasized the importance of student representation in the evaluation process.

The meeting also explored the establishment of an Alumni Office to enhance engagement with current students and graduates, positioning them at the heart of UoG’s development. Discussions further addressed research funding, community development initiatives and alternative strategies to overcome financial challenges.

Senior faculty members, deans, registrar, controller of examinations, directors and IQC representatives actively participated, contributing to a shared vision of institutional excellence. The Vice Chancellor concluded by underscoring that digital innovation, student inclusion, and alumni engagement will serve as the foundation for UoG’s quality leap in the years ahead.
