
Pakistan issued a formal demarche to the acting UK High Commissioner on Friday after a protest outside the Pakistani Consulate in Bradford, expressing serious concern over threats made against Field Marshal Asim Munir. The Foreign Office said the matter was taken very seriously.
According to sources, the official social media account of a Pakistani political party in the UK was used to mobilise demonstrators, who reportedly used provocative language and made threats against the Chief of Defence Forces. Authorities said such actions risk destabilising bilateral relations.

The demonstrators allegedly threatened to assassinate Field Marshal Munir using a car bomb, prompting Islamabad to urge the UK government to ensure that its territory is not used to promote violence or incite unrest in Pakistan.
State Minister for Interior Tallal Chaudhry confirmed that Pakistan formally wrote to the UK regarding “inciteful” statements circulating on social media involving Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Officials highlighted a video that raised serious security concerns and demanded accountability.

The letter urged the UK to take strict action against individuals spreading content that promotes terrorism, violence, and instability, stressing that PTI-linked platforms have persistently encouraged unrest and violent activities from British soil.
Pakistan expects the UK to hold such miscreants accountable in accordance with its laws, reinforcing the message that threats and incitement originating abroad will not be tolerated and will face diplomatic and legal consequences.
