LAHORE: Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Secretary Najam Ahmed Shah Saturday said that healthcare provider should work with commitment and dedication to reform the health sector The administration of all hospitals will have to fulfill their responsibilities in an efficient manner, he said while addressing a seminar on Health Sector Transformations at the Allama Iqbal Medical College. The secretary said that it was indispensable to outsource janitorial services, security and laundry services for better management of hospitals. He directed medical superintendents of all medical colleges and teaching hospitals to evolve computer-based complaint management system for addressing public complaints. He said that all hospital should immediately notify infection control committees. Earlier, public health expert from Turkey Dr Hassan Kagil presented a report in the light of a detailed survey on condition of hospitals of Punjab. Principals of medical colleges, medical superintendents of teaching hospitals, public health experts and doctors were also present. Later, the health secretary visited Jinnah Hospital, where he appreciated the administration of the hospital for improving infrastructure and cleanliness arrangements. Dr Sohail Saqlain told the secretary that the hospital had started using auto destructive syringes and special measures had been taken for infection control.
