Shehbaz seeks expanded trade with Australia

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called for expanding trade and investment between Pakistan and Australia during a meeting in Islamabad. He highlighted agriculture and livestock as key sectors for future cooperation. He shared these views while welcoming Australian High Commissioner Tim Kane.

He welcomed Australia’s interest in Pakistan’s mining and minerals sector and praised Reko Diq’s potential. Moreover, he said stronger economic ties would benefit both nations. He noted that bilateral relations were moving in a positive direction.

The prime minister congratulated Tim Kane on his appointment and expressed confidence in his tenure. He said the new high commissioner would help strengthen long-standing friendly relations. He also conveyed greetings to the Australian leadership.

Shehbaz Sharif condemned the deadly terrorist attack at Bondi Beach in Sydney and offered condolences. He expressed solidarity with Australia and rejected terrorism in all forms. Furthermore, he stressed the need for collective global action against extremism.

He praised the Pakistani diaspora in Australia for linking both nations and boosting goodwill. He highlighted strong cultural ties and a shared love for cricket. Ambassador Kane thanked the prime minister and reaffirmed Australia’s desire for closer cooperation.
