RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that Pakistan will always stand by Kashmiris in their struggle for the right of self-determination and recourse to basic human rights. He expressed these views during a visit to Haji Pir Sector along the Line of Control on Sunday. Army Chief said Kashmiris have a right to live without fear and repression adding that the violence perpetrated by Indian Forces in Indian occupied Kashmir (IOK) is state sponsored terrorism by all definitions. General Bajwa also said that this violence riles up our passion as the people of Pakistan cannot remain indifferent to the barbaric treatment meted out to defenceless Kashmiris including innocent women and children. He said India is venting out its frustration in the form of aggression on people of Occupied Kashmir but our response is purely in military domain in accordance with our values. The Army Chief was given a detailed briefing on the ceasefire violations on LoC. He was also informed about the operational preparedness of the armed forces. The Army Chief appreciated the high morale and professionalism displayed by the armed forces.
