Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has reaffirmed that eliminating corruption remains one of the government’s highest priorities. She stressed that corruption creates inequality, blocks development, and weakens society, urging immediate and firm action to address it across all public institutions.
While marking International Anti-Corruption Day, she highlighted that corruption is not just a legal violation but also a social and economic injustice. Moreover, she stated that the government adopted a zero-tolerance policy from its very first day, aiming to restore public trust and reduce widespread frustration among citizens.

Furthermore, Maryam Nawaz said transparency in decision-making, strict oversight, and improved service delivery have strengthened Pakistan’s image globally. She added that these reforms are encouraging a culture of accountability, which is essential for stable governance and long-term progress.
She also noted that the introduction of the KPI system has made government officers more responsible and active. As a result, public services have become more efficient, allowing people to experience smoother processes and quicker responses from government departments.

In addition, Maryam Nawaz emphasized that corruption is the biggest enemy of national development because it drains resources and damages confidence in state institutions. She called on all stakeholders to renew their commitment with sincerity and honesty so that corruption can be eliminated completely through united and consistent efforts.
