Fans pour divided views on ‘Neelofar’

Published on: December 1, 2025 12:14 AM

Neelofar, starring Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan, finally premiered in cinemas on November 28, 2025, after several delays.

Fans had been eagerly anticipating the on-screen reunion of the beloved Humsafar pair.

The premiere in Lahore drew an excited crowd of industry figures and loyal fans, creating a vibrant and celebratory atmosphere.

During interviews, the cast highlighted that the film carries a meaningful message about relationships and the nuances of love.

However, audience reactions to Neelofar have been divided.

Some praised the performances while many others criticised the film’s pacing and narrative.

The majority of the viewers felt it relied too heavily on star power, while the script lacked the strength necessary to sustain interest.

Some fans enjoyed the slow-burn romance, noting that the film delivered a poetic and visually appealing journey for audiences seeking nostalgia.

One viewer wrote: “Watching Fawad and Mahira on the big screen after years was nothing short of spellbinding and nostalgic.”

Another remarked: “Some scenes were swoon-worthy in that old-school romantic style, though the second half didn’t hold my attention entirely.”

On the other hand, critics pointed out that the chemistry between the leads fell short of the magic seen in Humsafar, leaving parts unconvincing.

A reviewer stated: “Neelofar suffers from a bizarre, directionless storyline that drags without offering any emotional connection.”

Some commented that the film felt like a casual Netflix watch, with beautiful visuals but lacking the depth of a cinematic experience.

Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan’s performances, however, received appreciation for their professionalism, screen presence, and commitment to the characters’ emotional arcs.

Fans also praised the cinematography, particularly the way Lahore was showcased, highlighting its historical architecture and colourful streets.

One user shared: “You may not understand exactly why Mansoor falls for Neelofar, but the city’s charm shines in every frame.”
